Experience:I am usually the last section and remedial class teacher, a friend to struggling students. I'm just a simple educator who believes that every learner is a world changer. No matter who you are or what you can do, in my eyes, you can positively impact the world. So let's begin now, one step at a time.
I am an English tutor who has a rich background in communication, media, and the arts. My style of teaching is not confined to the regular "table, paper, and pen" set-up.
Rather, I encourage my students to be more involved in the learning process by allowing them to make sense of difficult concepts by relating them to their physical environment, and even acting them out if needed for better comprehension.
I have seven (7) years of background in broadcast writing for TV, four (4) years in theater, almost two (2) years as a media literacy trainer for educators, parents, and children, and two (2) years of experience as a kindergarten teacher.
Approach:I usually focus on key areas that the parents (and sometimes the students) desire to improve such as speaking, writing, comprehension, and/or listening.
The use of media and the arts plays a vital role in my teaching strategy as 21st-century learning emphasizes higher-order thinking and collaborative input between the teacher and learner.
I am capable of teaching English, basic science and math, creative and news writing, basic theater arts, and media literacy.
