Experience:With a master's degree in counseling psychology, my academic background and internship experiences have equipped me with diverse skills in addressing a range of psychological issues.
During my tenure as a Counseling Psychologist, I successfully provided support for issues such as examination anxiety, stress management, and self-esteem enhancement among students. It also provided me with an opportunity to help students navigate their confusion regarding the career pathway.
As a lecturer, I thrived in mentoring and counseling students, in addition to my teaching responsibilities. This experience strengthened my research skills through guiding students for dissertation.
I have also served as a Career Counselor, proficient in utilizing assessment tools like RIASEC, DAT, and 16 PF to help students make informed educational and career decisions. Additionally, I have undergone training on career counseling provided by RUFA Education, an institute based in Calicut, Kerala. This training helped me further advance my career counseling skills by allowing me to make use of psychometric assessments including VARK, MBTI, and so on.
Regarding my achievements, I have cleared the UGC NET, which tests eligibility to work as a lecturer in Indian universities and colleges. My research on interpersonal relationship satisfaction, self-compassion, and adjustment among emerging adults during the COVID-19 pandemic was published in the International Journal of Indian Psychology and presented at an International Conference organized by Christ Nagar College and Assumption University of Thailand.
Approach:I fervently believe that students have their own learning styles. Some can be visual learners; some may be auditory learners, and there are also kinesthetic learners. I can analyze a student's learning style and tailor my approach to their needs.
I prefer a student-centered approach where open discussions are encouraged to promote a deep understanding of concepts.
I can also guide students with their dissertations and have experience in using SPSS.
