PGCE primary school teaching

Experience:

One year tutoring a 9 year old girl with learning difficulties, currently teaching children in early years, experience working in different year groups varying across ages 3-11 including children using English as an additional language. I also regularly teach guitar to children aged 5-10.

Approach:

Depending on the subject. I begin assessing the child to note their ability and focus on what they struggle with most. I then introduce things that may interest them to make learning more fun. For example if a child likes dinosaurs, I will incorporate this in to a lesson such as adding and taking away with dinosaur figures. I assess a child at the end of each week to view their progress.
