Experience:

I have 20 years of experiences in teaching math courses for college students. My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deeper understanding of the concept and confidence in solving a problem and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which students are encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves.

Approach:

I strongly believe that every student is unique and learns at a different learning pace, level, and style. Thus, I aim to know the weaknesses and strengths of my students to find the best flexible learning solution in bridging the gap between what they know and what they didn’t know.  I foster an environment of exploration and discovery, encouraging my students to make mistakes and take risks, then correct those mistakes and misconceptions in math. I prefer being a facilitator instead of an expert to enhance students' potential and help them develop their math skills with opportunities to grow and become critical thinkers and problem solvers.
