Experience:

I have been tutoring university students for 2 years now. I help them with subjects and courses that I have a strong understanding of. I like teaching because I can connect to students easily while giving them the help that they need. While I was in high school, I had a keen interest in all the Science subjects and Mathematics. I was awarded “Highest Achiever in Mathematics & Physics” since I demonstrated my strong scientific, comprehensive and analytical skills all year round.

Approach:

My style of teaching is to prepare beforehand so I have a clear understanding of how much content to teach in a session and what ways I can implement so that it is easier for the student to understand the content. I make sure to ask frequently if they can fully understand what I am teaching, to avoid confusion at the end. I am patient, so I am willing to teach the same content time and again until I am sure that the student is confident in the content. I also give a brief summary of the previous session just to refresh their memory, before moving on to the next topic. What sets me apart is that I have a detailed understanding of where a student usually gets confused or makes mistakes. I usually create a "tips & tricks sheet" that helps them pay attention to commonly made mistakes (especially prior to exams). I also provide a “priority list”. Some chapters or content need more attention than others and the priority list helps the students to revise the more important topics first (if they do not have time to revise everything), before moving on to the other topics. This reduces stress and helps the students to be organized in their approach to studying.
