Experience:

I just graduated from my undergraduate degree in politics and international relations at the University of Glasgow this summer. I like to place an emphasis on how and why we know things, and through this further our depth of understanding. I seek to create an environment for my future students that is enriching, interactive and open. The areas I am most qualified to teach up to grade 12 are Maths, English literature, Politics and Music, however I am open to discussing other possible subjects.

Approach:

I plan my lessons by initially comprehending and understanding what areas of the subject need particular focus for each individual student. By discussing theories and problems in an interactive and relaxed way, I find students to be more open to new ideas and ways in which they may be able to learn more easily. I think the balance between a strict lesson and an open one is key to successful learning. Therefore, it is important for me to establish trust between myself and my student, in order for them to feel comfortable to ask questions and explore their education. I find working through examples together with the student and then independently has worked well for both previous students and myself.
