Experience:

International environments were fundamental for my growth, I could get in touch with many cultures and I learnt how to relate, work and respect them, increasing my teamwork skill. Thanks to my artistic career, as well as popularizer, I could deepen my knowledge. My studies of psychology and pedagogy helped me in stimulating others’ curiosity on music. I created a flexible teaching method that let me tailor lessons according with students’ needs.

Approach:

An objective and differenciating approach can help to resolve all kind of technical issues and intellectual, historical and philosophical information open students’ minds giving them the chance to create something unique. Students have to be ready for exams, concerts or competitions and those I had the pleasure to prepare were able to win prizes, perform brilliantly, get high remarks as soloist and in chamber formation. Music is linked to all expressions of human life and can be used to surpass our physical and psychological limits, improving our all-day life quality: for example I help a young student to pass her fear to perform in front of an audience. My main goal as teacher is to infuse love for music and happiness in performing, making students to be aware of what they are creating. My problem-solving approach is based on students’ differentiation. In more details: - beginners are introduced to the music with little games, if young, or exercises, if old, in order to develop the sounds and rhythm identification. In the meanwhile, independence of the hands and fingers is stimulated by easy exercises and games. After achieving easy goals, they learn how to read. I personally write exercises in order to solve students’ specific issues. As soon they reach a minimum hands/fingers independence required, I immediately start working on pieces. After 9 months, the results are quite clear. Higher level students need help in sorting technical issues by finding the perfect method/approach and consciousness to solve them. Historical, philosophical and artistic knowledge is essential in order to set a proper interpretation without blocking students’ creativity.
