Experience:

I am a UK trained primary school teacher who has completed a PGCE in primary education. I have been a teacher here in Qatar for 8 years. I have extensive experience in the classroom teaching all subjects to children aged 5-11, as well as teaching physical education. My main aim is to ensure that the lessons are fun and engaging. I am able to establish positive working relationships with the children which can help them socially as well as academically and works to develop their confidence.

Approach:

When attending sessions in a student's home it is vital to make them feel comfortable and at ease, which I am able to achieve through child centered conversations and allowing them to take some ownership over their learning. Ultimately, the sessions will be based around the student's needs and the expectations of the school. I will be able to use the information provided by the school and adapt it to suit each students' learning styles whilst also making it fun and engaging, to prevent children viewing the private sessions as simply an extension of the school day.
