Experience:

I have experience tutoring children from early years up until year 3. I am a calm person who tries to make sure that the children are enjoying the lessons and cater the lessons to the children's interests. Currently I am completing a post graduate degree in learning support which involves helping to support children in areas of study which they struggle. This is beneficial to the learners success. I am friendly and have a genuine interest in helping them to become the best they can be.

Approach:

When creating lessons for tutoring, I take the lead from the teacher and what is being taught at the child's school. I will base lessons on the work that is being covered and try to make it interesting for the child. I usually see where there are gaps in the child's learning and try to incorporate these into the lessons so that they are consistently practicing these skills and then will hopefully be able to master them. I enjoy creating STEAM activities because they are engaging, fun and incorporate a lot of different skills. Sometimes these will be based on topics covered by the school or interests that the child might have. I enjoy doing craft and academic games in lessons. I think the key is make learning fun and enjoyable there will be some tasks that need to be completed but helping the child to learn through play will increase their retention of the work covered. I want to help the child to have a love for learning and spark their curiosity in a variety of topics.
