Experience:I have a first class Ba Hons in Primary Education from a British University. I have a range of experience teaching children within a primary school setting. My style of teaching is based upon the children I am teaching, this includes making links to a child's individual interest. I also like to make learning practical in order to help support a deeper understanding of the learning as well as making all learning engaging, therefore supporting children's ability to retain information.
Approach:All of my lessons will be planned specifically to meet the individual needs of the child I will be tutoring. This will include first assessing the prior knowledge of the child in order to plan effectively for their progression. As well as this, I will work with the family to discuss any concerns or wishes to make sure the tutoring is tailored specifically towards the child. My areas of strength are Phonics for reading and writing as well as Primary mathematics. I specialised in mathematics for primary during my university training and also underwent subtantial training for phonics during my time teaching in the UK. As well as this, I am confident when developing children's English skills for reading and writing including all areas of comprehension. As a tutor I aim to build a good relationship with the child and their family so that I am able to achieve the best results for the child. This is able to be achieved by encouraging a love for learning by making sure all sessions engage the child through a variety of approaches. These include practical sessions, repetition of previous learning for consolidation and also trialing a variety of teaching approaches to determine which is best suited for the individual child.
