BA in Education, BA in English Education, Masters in Education, Masters in Teaching and Learning

Experience:

I have been teaching English Literature and English Language in national and international schools Sri Lanka, Japan, Qatar and Ireland for over 20 years, involving whole class and one-to-one tutoring at all levels from KS1- KS4 - IGCSE/ CIE and IB diploma. Apart from being a classroom teacher, I have also worked as Head of Department and Subject Coordinator at prestigious international schools.

I have been teaching Adult students as well, mainly Business English, Spoken and Written English, IELTS, SATS etc. I have helped students achieve A and A* over the years, preparing them for paper 1 and 2 /coursework. I do both home tuition and online lessons. 

Approach:

I am passionate about my career which makes me create unique lesson plans that suit the needs of each student. I use differentiation when teaching larger groups and IEP for one - to -one teaching. All my lessons are carefully planned with an engaging starter, challenging activities and productive ending. My lessons are interactive, students get a chance to speak more and express their ideas than just being passive learners.
