An Easy Going Artist Who Is Ready To Teach And Explore The Design World

Qualification:

Majoring In Painting and Printing

Experience:

I have taught painting and drawing classes in the Artist's cafe in doha. I have been able to teach the professional techniques of most art mediums. I have have studied textile design, fashion design, Painting, Printing and is now majoring in Painting and printing. Skills such as charcoal and pencil portraits, to water-colour scenery’s, Pop art, Stencil art, Spray Painting, Acrylic and oils on canvas, paper and wood, Photography, Indesign, Illustrator, Fashion, Sewing, textiles and Photoshop.

Approach:

I often plan my lessons for painting and drawing through bringing a canvas or piece of paper to work with side by side with the student. For example, If I were to teach a student on how to use watercolour as a medium to paint a tree and to make a landscape painting, I would naturally show her on my piece of paper as she works on her painting side by side. This technique is often the strongest as the student works as I teach. Other techniques such as still life drawing and sketching portraits will also be done side by side. I often let the student build on their own experimentations as I teach the basic skill of using a pencil and the right shading technique depending on what the student wants to learn. However, I start with the easiest medium such as painting and work my way towards harder techniques using a pencil and deciding what kind of content or theme the student would like to work towards. As Art is mainly subject I would be focusing more on the technique, rather than the artistic approach. In terms of softwares, I am able to bring my laptop to show the student how each software works and the tricks and ways of incorporating your art through the digital medium. My lessons often incorporate fun and teaching as a mix, mainly because I am a passionate artist myself and therefore love to teach others what I am skilled at. In terms of arts and crafts and origami, I love to teach how prints and patterns work together and how it's possible to produce fun shapes and crafts. Through sewing, sticking and assembling, I am also able to provide art materials to experiment and find the perfect templates for a given project. In conclusion, each week would be a new project that would focus on one element of art where the student practices outside teaching hours to perfect the technique and bring it back to class for some feedback. I believe that feedback is extremely critical because it pushes the student to strive for better outcomes and learns through their process.
