BA Hons Applied Languages - French and Chinese

Experience:

I am highly qualified linguist with a degree and a PGCE teaching qualification. I also have a wealth of experience of teaching French and Mandarin Chinese. I have been teaching these languages for 13 years (mainly face-to-face in an institution) and I can offer French from beginners level right up to A-level and I only offer beginner's level Mandarin Chinese. I also have experience of teaching English as a second language and if you are looking for English lessons, I can most certainly help.

Approach:

Generally speaking, my lessons always consist of the three crucial stages, such as a warm-up activity, the main body of the lesson where either a new concept or a follow-on concept is implemented. The main body of the lesson centers on the significant three steps which are the presentation, practice and production stages. The main body of the lesson is then followed by a plenary where the main learning of the lesson is reinforced. I am a great believer in stretching your capabilities to the absolute maximum and I do this through the use of differentiating activities. Whatever your level or competence, I can easily adapt my lessons to meet this. The more you progress in French, the more I will be speaking French throughout my lessons, in order to enable you achieve a trained ear in the spoken target language.
