Experience:I worked as a Physics and Science teacher for a reputable School within Westbay. I have run revision classes with face to face support along with 1-2-1 online and home tutoring. I have taught in Doha for 2 years and use technology within my learning. I have worked with many students who have also found scientific terminology difficult as English is not their first language. I have taught the British curriculum with CIE and Edexcel Exam boards. Due to Covid19, I will only tutor online to keep the student safe and healthy. I also use technology with my learning, therefore online tutoring is a better option.
Approach:Within my first lesson, I will develop a plan to use. This plan will show progress being made within the lessons. I find this useful as my students can see what they have learnt and can also use this for exam preparation. Using this we can then start to work on the weaknesses and strengths of the student. I give weekly homework and constructive feedback. I use my own tutoring resources which incorporate exam questions. This is beneficial as it gives my students the ability of how to answer exam-style questions without hesitation. I believe in building positive relationships with my students and also using technology throughout my lessons. I feel that the students find learning enjoyable with this approach and not a task which they do not want to take part in.
