PGCE Primary and B Phil. Hons. Level 4 Child Development and Education.

Experience:

I can teach English, Maths quite well.

Approach:

I would plan to link the lessons with the child's interests and to get to know a little more about their passions. Lessons would be very practical to begin with, and to get a solid understanding of the theory through play or practical learning such as using materials and objects to understand the concepts before working on written methods. I keep the lessons paced through questioning and discussion, mixed with working on tasks that are timed and allow the child to focus for short periods of time but to get the most benefit from the sessions. I am aware that children are tired at the end of the day or at weekends and the more active the lessons, the more likely they are to engage with the tasks and to enjoy the learning.
