Experience:I'm an M.D. Candidate '18(5th year Medial Student) at Weill Cornell Medical College. I'm well versed in Chemistry, Psychology, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, genetics, anatomy, physiology, and basic and clinical medicinal science. I've tutored high school chemistry to my peers in the past. I've also worked as debate coach helping students organise their ideas and express them confidently. I love teaching and science, so I'm pretty enthusiastic about teaching it to others.
Approach:My policy in tutoring students is to act as a guide rather than a teacher. Students already have a teacher at schools and I can be an educated peer to help assist them in their progress towards their goal. Initially, I like to evaluate the student needs to gauge the level of knowledge they have. This is done via asking their strength and weakness, assessing their goals, and tracking their progress as we go along to revaluate where they stand. The structure of the session will depend on the material being covered and most importantly the student's learning style. It's very important for me to help the students meet their in-class requirements but it is also important to help them understand the material. So we will work on scheduling their assignments and projects into smaller parts and working through them to maximise efficiency and understanding. Also, we will focus on a specific goal each session.
