Experience:I have gained over 13 years of UK teaching experience within the primary and secondary education sector, ranging from kindergarten through to KS4 and KS5 (IGCSE and IAS Level) students. Topics covered included; numeracy, phonics, grammar, spelling, punctuation, handwriting, the key components of sentences, creative writing and of a vocabulary word bank development. Student progress was monitored through regular homework and assessment. I also devised an English as an additional language support group for improved students literacy skills.
Approach:My experience of private tuition has allowed me to help guide students, who held uncertainties of KS3 (secondary), KS4 (iGCSE) English and Geography as well as IAS LEVEL General English, to new levels of confidence and academic achievement through weekly one to one tuition. I believe that learning should be personalised to the individual learner and my tuition lessons are adapted to meet the needs of each individual student. Therefore each session would be tailored to allow the student to feel supported in addition to being adequately challenged to develop academically. I like to ensure that activity resources are engaging and readily available for each student as a means of measuring progress.
