Experience:

As an experienced Head of Department and Pastoral Head, I am experienced in designing learning content that is cognisant of different learning styles and appropriate to ability levels, leading to clear progression and appropriate expectations.

Approach:

My wide experience of teaching and middle management in both subject and pastoral areas has led to both a wide range of applicable skills and an informed and effective reflective teaching philosophy. Influenced by the dynamic learning strategies of Paul Ginnis, and the ‘split screen’ approach of Jackie Beere, together with a positive engagement with and effective utilisation of ICT , I feel that I enable my students by foregrounding explicit learning skills., I teach subject content using learning skills as a major focus.
