Post RequirementBSc (Majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Physics) from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand
I am a fully qualified Secondary Math teacher from New Zealand. I have experience teaching Algebra, Calculus, Statistics and Geometry from years nine to thirteen. With respect to Physics I can tutor mechanics from years nine to thirteen. I can tutor electronics but will require prior warning.
The thought of doing Maths can be very daunting to young people. With my help your son or daughter will feel more confident and less stressed. Students have the right to succeed and the ability to do so. I see myself as a facilitator, providing my students with knowledge and processes to solve problems whilst creating an environment where they have the confidence to take risks and involve themselves in mathematical discussions. Manipulatives, well-orchestrated discussion, problem solving activities and sound mathematical teaching strategies help students make better sense of big ideas. I promote structured and critical thinking by asking questions and providing feedback, employing a range of strategies and subtle scaffolding to ensure the student is challenged and supported. I am willing to tutor students one on one and in groups up to four. This can be done at mine or I can come to yours. If you wish to be tutored in groups I charge 150 Qatari riyal per person.
