Qualification:

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status obtained in UK), PGCE, BA with Education, TESOL Certificate from The Oxford House, London

Experience:

Over 30 years experience in teaching all ages ( in schools, one to one private tuition, small groups).

Approach:

I am a languages specialist (English, including IELTS, Spanish & French) and use the Communicative Approach. Initially I assess my students in the four languages skills and tailor lessons to their needs. I use a variety of authentic materials and create situations where the students have to use language productively. Topics and tasks I select depend on the purpose of learning (eg. English for academic purposes, English for business). I select materials that strech the student just a little above their comfort zone to ensure progress is constant without them feeling they are lost! Relationships are important to the learning process, so I make sure the student is comfortable, feels free to ask questions, to ask me to repeat things, that he/she does not feel inhibited, etc.  I view the students success as my success and their failure as mine too! Hope you give me the former!
