Experience:

I am a qualified teacher and so am experienced in identifying a child's strengths and areas for development, and then structuring their learning to meet appropriate targets. I have also taught children one-to-one and in small groups when working as a Teaching Assistant in the UK. In addition I worked as a Literacy Tutor for a charity in the UK in which I tutored children one-to-one, specifically tailoring the literacy programme to their needs.

Approach:

My experience as a Class Teacher, as a one-to-one Literacy Tutor and as a Teaching Assistant has shown me that for the best learning to take place it has to be enjoyable, and that the children need to see a clear and real purpose for their learning. If both the child and the tutor enjoy their sessions, then the learning will be much more effective and long-lasting! I make sure that I quickly get to know a child's abilities so that I can tailor the tutoring carefully according to their needs.
