Qualification:Cambridge University Teacher's certification with 10 years of teaching experience and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
Experience:I have 15 years of one to one tutoring experience, working with students from years 1 through 12 and teaching ESL and ICT to adults. I obtained my teaching certificate from Cambridge University and Computer Science degree from the University of Texas in Arlington USA. I have over 10 years of teaching experience under the British curriculum here in Qatar. I moved from Dallas, Texas, USA to Doha, Qatar in 2012 and started teaching at Doha Academy, British school. I have worked in all year levels starting from 1 through 12. In addition, I teach English to all ages, from beginners to adults seeking help in advancing the English language. My teaching experience includes English, Math, Science, Social Studies and ICT. Approach:I approach tutoring in such a way that I assess the students on the stage appropriate for their year level, then give them a variety of practice exercises and urge them to think about the answers in order to become independent learners and creative thinkers. I create programs and lesson plans according to the curriculum requirements, which develop on previous knowledge and encourage students to explore new and interesting possibilities. I encourage students to build their own learning in an environment that motivates and helps students to realise their full potential. I have had some excellent results with students who have a history of poor performance. My main goal is to instil a love of learning by making it exciting and interesting. Some of my students who had difficulties with English are now reading aloud with confidence and are enjoying reading for pleasure.
