Qatar is overhauling its education system to support its shift to a technology-driven economy. Recognized by the World Economic Forum for its high international rankings in primary education and tech integration, Qatar is committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
In the Middle East, education is being considered a serious issue. The gigantic shift from a purely oil-based economy to an industry and information technology-based economy nation like Qatar, the educational systems have been given prime importance concerning its development in order to provide the nationals with the upgraded education to make them employable in the developing sectors.
Since the 1990s, the core focus is on Qatar’s educational reform. It eventually progressed towards the more developed educational system that lay out a comprehensive exploration of the academic subjects and supports critical thinking ability. One more reason for developing Qatar’s higher education is that the nation wants to stay clear of the hazards suffered by the African, South American, Asian, and Middle Eastern countries. The youth of these countries go overseas for study and never think of returning as their education is given more value somewhere else.
Educational condition in Qatar: The present scenario
Qatar is getting ready with full force to cope up with the pace of the dynamic demands through developing their educational reforms. They are concentrating on making the youth prepared for the transition to a versatile and diverse economy and made their place firm by developing both the educational system and the curricula that make sure that today’s youth can become tomorrow’s expert workers.
However, the parents, principals and teachers of Qatar are showing hesitance in accepting the new educational system, primarily due to the fear that Qatar’s cultural history may be completely lost. But, in spite of it, the overall new system has become successful so far.
The independent schools are sanctioning various regions of Qatar the capability to give the educational course a shape that is extramural of the required curricula. The Qatar government believes that it will cheer up the innovation among the educators, and critical thinking ability among the students.
Since the beginning of the educational reforms, technology has become the pivotal force of the school system. The alteration in the concentration on the education system has stimulated deeper knowledge of ICT along with the augmentation of the youth’s critical thinking.
